Life
Stories and Family Histories
Fletcher,
William. Recording Your Family History;
A Guide to Preserving Oral History Using
Audio and Video Tape. Ten Speed Press,
Berkeley, CA, © 1989.
Fletcher's
purpose in this book is to assist the
reader in preparing and conducting autobiographical
interviews. Although it is by an American
author, many of the suggestions pertain
to a Canadian audience. Creating an audio
or videotape for future generations, in
the words of the author, is “fun,
interesting, and easy to do, and it creates
a unique emotional legacy for you and
the younger members of your narrator’s
family.”
